Buntin Creative Veteran Selected to Judge National American Advertising Awards
After being named Nashville’s American Advertising Awards’ (AAA) 2017 Copywriter of the Year, The Buntin Group’s SVP, Group Creative Director, Tom Cocke, has also been chosen to judge the 2017 National AAA Awards.
The National Awards attracts more than 40,000 entries every year from almost 200 local ad club competitions. Cocke will be judging these entries along with creative leaders from Walt Disney Co., Hill Holiday, OLSON, Possible+Deutsch, DDB and McGarryBowen. Judging will take place April 27-29 in Washington, D.C.
During his nearly 20-plus year tenure with The Buntin Group, BBDO and other creative agencies, Cocke has created campaigns for numerous brands including Cracker Barrel, Chinet, Tennessee Education Lottery, Lowe’s Home Improvement Warehouse, Continental Tire, The Contributor and more. He’s been recognized by national awards shows including The One Show, Communication Arts, New York Festivals, Clios, OBIES, EMMYs, ADDYs, London International and Jay Chiat Awards. Previously, Cocke has been a judge for the National Student ADDY Awards, as well as Effies and other competitions.
“Obviously, I’m looking forward to rubbing elbows with some of the most creative people in the country,” said Cocke. “But I’m also ready to show ‘em how we do it in Nashville at The Buntin Group!”
The mission of the AAA competition is to recognize and reward the creative spirit of excellence in the art of advertising. The National Awards ceremony will be held in New Orleans on June 10, 2017.
